I most certainly did NOT want another baby with Ex, even though I did want more children.

I'll never understand this obsession with half vs. full sibs.

Anyway, I don't think I could do what your friend did.

< Would you have "one more" baby with a dirtbag you wanted to free yourself from?? Wouldn't you worry about the genetic links to "dirtbag-ness"??>

It's hard for me to believe I would want a child with a man who was so "dirt-baggy" he needed supervised visits.

However, my mother really believed that a woman should have children with just one man. I heard that every day from the time I was 13 to I was 35. I'm not sure how I feel about that now. But I really did try to arrange my life so that all my children had one father.

So, if I were getting a divorce and the guy was not so dirt-baggy that I feared to leave him with my kids AND I wanted one more child AND I wasn't an emotional wreck due to the divorce itself, then, yes, I might go ahead and get pregnant. The older I was, the more likely the possibility. (That is, more likely at 40 than at 23.)

IDK, it's one thing to use legitimately donated sperm, or have an honest oops pregnancy, but to knowingly allow yourself to become pregnant by someone who you have no intention of staying with seems very wrong. Very dishonest.

I've heard that advice, too, but more often for men.

No way. Divorce, no matter how amicable, still leaves its mark on lots of kids and to purposely have a child knowing said child would become part of a custody dispute that may/may not turn ugly makes me feel quite sick TBH.
