I've been inspired by several posts in chit chat so here it is:

Some people are perfectly clear where each of us stand on the SM/BM/Skid relationship, but there seems to be some confusion on "where the people on this board" stand. State your position on the following relationships:

On the SM/BM relationship: Whatever works for your unique situation.

On the SM/Skid relationship: Whatever works for your unique situation.

On my relationship to DH as a parent to my skid (BMs sub your relationship with your ex as the parent of your kid): Whatever works for your unique situation.

On my DH's relationship with BM (BM's sub this for your DH's relationship with SM as it pertains to your kid--for some of you this isn't a factor): Whatever works for your unique situation.

Comments: Whatever works for your unique situation.

I agree with all you said but would just add that when you have joint children with BD and there is a difference in parenting styles between BMs house and BDs that our decisions apply in our house regarding discipline, etc.

On the SM/BM relationship:

--Mine is non-existant, haven't seen her in quite some time probably a year or more. Mostly I think BM/SM relationship should be the exchange of pleasantries if and when they happen to come into contact.

On the SM/Skid relationship:

--I have a minimal relationship with SS, he has set the tone, if he wants to participate in activities I do with my kid he does, if he doesn't then he doesn't. He and I do not do one on one time that is for his parents to do. Dad makes the parenting decisions in our house for his kid.

On my relationship to DH as a parent to my skid (BMs sub your relationship with your ex as the parent of your kid):

--None. He parents his kid the way he sees fit. I don't agree but my mouth is shut and my kid is parented differently. I'm good with that.

On my DH's relationship with BM:

--Whatever he wants it to be as long as he's not doing the horizontal mambo with her I'm good.
