I wouldn't give money to her period..Hell no!! If it was me in that situation, theres no way in Hell I'd give her a penny. Id tell her its not my problem, she can figure it out. Sorry but if it was my SO having an affair I just wouldn't give a crap what happens to her. It would not be my moral obligation to support a woman my SO would have been having an affair with and then got pregnant.

Fun question!

If Amanda was smart, she'd be hiring a good lawyer go contest the will, I would think that the biological child would be entitled to part of the estate. She has a lot of gall to confront her at her office, though, that's very insensitive.

The part of the story I keep coming back to is that Jane was also having an affair, both of them are responsible for the problems in the marriage. I don't see her quite as the injured party if she was faithful to him. I guess you could argue that it was the affair that caused such a distance in their marriage that she strayed also.

I wouldn't want any money to go to the mistress, she has no obligation to provide for her at all. If she wanted to be taken care of, she shouldn't have had an affair with a married man. I also think it's pretty telling that their affair went on for so long without Bob ever asking a divorce so he could marry her. I do think that she should at least set up some kind of trust for the child, that Amanda would have no control over. It's not the child's fault that they were born in these circumstances.

Honestly nothing. The kid is entitled to SS but that's it.

~~Sam stitches well with others, runs with scissors in her pocket. Cheerful and stupid.

I would think that Amanda would have to prove that the baby is Bobs. I think you can do this with a close relative to Bob... (brother?) If it comes back stating that most likely Bob was the father, then the baby would be entitled to Social Security benefits.

Jane has no obligation to the mistress or the baby: she didn't create it and she didn't ____ Amanda.
