Only one of my concerns... we tried to engage debate in the Article section below in the Prevnar thread, and since it might have been overlooked, I thought I'd start its own thread.

Thoughts on bacterial vaccines?

Just bumping this so it will be near the top for Monday morning, I think Jon only reads/posts during the week.

Well since Jon clearly does not want to debate something of merit, I figured I would clue in some lurkers who are trying to decide whether vaccines like Prevnar are a good idea and worth the risk of an AE or other (unknown, unverified) long term risks of the vaccine.

I saw the post .. though I have nothing to debate here .. Elijah got his 2 mo Prevnar .. then @ 6 months I took him in for his 4 month Prevnar .. then I figured .. really, what's the point? He will never have lasting immunity to bacterial pneumonia ...and what's to say that if he had bacterial pneumonia, it would be something included in the vaccine. I'm sure I'll be "scolded" over not getting his vaccine -- but.. I'm starting to get used to it, I get a load of crap from crusty old nurses every time I take Elijah to the ped and we do just one vaccine.

"Well since Jon clearly does not want to debate something of merit"

He's probably off somewhere picking Orac's brain. It's likely that you know more about serotype replacement than either of them do - and I'll include the side-kick too.

Probably pretty clear by now given the number of times I link to it but I really appreciate the work insidevaccines has done. I am patiently waiting for the provax camp to engage in debate over the points they bring up. Good thing I have a good deal patience because I have been waiting a while. I was hopeful with Jon, because he posted so frequently but thus far...
