LOL, I don't consider myself middle class anymore either! I have now started calling it "working-poor" instead!

"demonstrated what most of us have suspected all along: shunning vaccinations is a rich person thing." I've not heard anything as asinine as that - ever! Who would suspect that only the rich people care enough to learn the facts??? We're certainly not rich and the other families I know who don't vaccinte are even poorer than we are!

"The study found dramatic increases in children entering Kindergarten without their shots (as high as 86 percent at one charter school). But the unvaccinated are concentrated at the highest-priced private schools, and public charter schools in the state’s most affluent areas."

Yeah, with a dramatic increase in all the illnesses caused by vaccines, it makes sense that parents would look into it. Often (not always! as I'm a homeschooler so I know better than this) the wealthier people have higher educations. Maybe that played a role? I know that when I first started reading legal or tax documents I would find myself bored and hardly understanding what I read the first time so it would take several reads before I could actually discuss the tax law with a client. Same with medical documents. I had the education in one, not the other but both were equally intimidating - still are. They are intimidating, and often boring but if I read it over and over I begin to understand. But money certainly wouldn't make me understand it any better! It might make it easier to stomach...

What a totally idiotic article!!!

I wouldn't necessarily call this "low" - I'd call it stupid. Sometimes with articles like this, one need not say anything because the original author says it all for anyone. First, I'm poor and I don't vaccinate. Wish I was rich, or even middle class, but "the man" is seeing that will never happen (thank you 3.5 trillion dollar debt!)

I understand it's supposed to be a satirical jab at people who do things because they think it's "in fashion" to do so. However, I think it's ridiculous and in poor taste to suggest that only rich people do not vaccinate. Though...I wish it were true! That would mean I'd be right, right?
