CNN is reporting on the controversy surrounding the newest co-host on ABC's "The View", Jenny McCarthy.  McCarthy is very outspoken against vaccines, and critics are worried that the public will take her non-vaccination message to heart without getting all the facts:

What do you think?  If you are already a fan of the show, will that change with her appointment?

I wasn't a fan of Elisabeth, but I'm not a huge fan of Jenny's either. I don't know why her appointment is so controversial, though.  I guess I never watched when she co-hosted, but does she push her view on vaccines a lot?  She's been an entertainer for a long while and I know that being anti-vaccine isn't the only thing she's famous for.  I guess I don't see why it is such a big deal?

She's very big on her vaccine stance considering she "cured autism" in her son. So yes, I can totally see why this is a big deal. It's bad enough people don't vaccinate because of things they read on the internet that have no backing, lies told by doctors, and researchers who tout "facts" with their own agenda in mind. Then there are the people really believe that celebrities are the absolute, "Hey, if Jennifer Hudson lost weight on WW, so can I!" not taking into account that a) she got paid a pretty penny to lose weight on WW, b) she has enough money to afford a personal trainer 24/7, and c) she can hire (and probably did) a personal chef. (And I'm sure you know which people I mean — the ones who comment on fan sites believing that it's actually the celebrity posting, lol.) So I can completely and utterly understand the worry that Jenny will be causing these types of people to not make an educated decision.

Plus, she's just an awful choice. I'm not a fan of the show, and really didn't like EH, but I'd take her a million times a day over JM.

Apparently the quick reply button isn't working today...

I work during the day, so I don't want the View.  But my question is, is she going to be talking about vaccinations every day, is it going to be a topic all the time for her to be constantly giving her opinions and insight for people to listen to?  She can easily have an opinion on any other area of news and guests that they talk about also, just like any other host.  If it gets to the point where its going to be a topic of discussion often, then I can see an issue, and I probably would object also, that's not the target of the show and I wouldn't be watching it for that purpose.
