We don't have any pets. If we did, they would be vaccinated as well.

FYI - the human measles virus is NOT the same as the virus causing one of the canine distempers. Both viruses are of the paramyxovirus family and the morbillivirus genus, but the species (canine distemper virus measles virus) are NOT the same.

OOOKAAY. IF you had pets, no doubt you would vaccinate them profusely. Somehow I never wondered ,lol! We don't, and somehow I am sure YOU never wondered either, lol;)

And thanks for the info on that particular virus; several verterinary sites I visited during my reseach gave me false information, then. None mentioned any possibility of humans contracting the virus from their dogs (and I was not worried about it regardless), but they presented it as the same virus, acting differently in animals than in humans. Perhaps a case of "dumbing it down" for the "laypeople"; instead of going into more detail and explaining that it was, in fact, a close relative of the measles virus, and the equivalent of measles in dogs, NOT actually the identical one. ???
