The average joe doesn't know the law for your state. That's why you need to get very familiar with it. :)
In Georgia, school teachers, principals, counselors, even the cafeteria workers...anyone having anything to do with the school will tell you that your child MUST be fully vaccinated to attend public school. It is not true but that does not stop them from spreading the hearsay and the groupspeak. Your child has a right to a free education and nothing in the child's medical records can change that.
They are creating more military schools here, I'm sure those will come with their own set of rules. Like the kids will have to get extra vaccines, not just the recommended ones. Surely they are not so stupid as to mandate anthrax and smallpox vaccines on young children! They already see what that vaccine is doing to some of the soldiers! I have a friend that I hope will share her story here one day. Her recently vaccinated husband had a reaction to his mandated smallpox vaccine (he's military).
I live in Illinois and my son attends high school on a religious vaccination waiver.

All states have a medical waiver, all but 2 have a religious waiver (MS and WV); 21 have all 3 waivers (medical, religious, philosophical).

Just to add to what the PPS said, "religion" does not mean "organized religion"...I refused the PKU test on grounds of religion...the only way to refuse it in Ohio, although all three vaccine waivers are available. No church required. I left the field for reason and religion blank...the Health Dept filled it in with "personal" and "NA".
I also have three un-vaxed children (perfectly healthy, no vaccines at all, now ages 10, 7, 5) in public school with no problems.
