But, don't you see???? It's a CONTRIBUTOR TO THE DEATH!!! And, if they had the vaccine there wouldn't BE ANY DEATHS!

Course. Because we all know when someone dies right after getting a vaccine, they would have died anyway and the vaccine had absolutely nothing to do with it. And when someone dies several days later from complications of a bug, it was the bug (well, it was if there is a vaccine available for it). Voila, perfect balance.

"Personally, watching this unfold has really opened up my eyes to how incredibly skewed and estimated the numbers actually are and I will be rather skeptical from now on when I hear the CDC quote statistics on deaths/illness from anything unless they are more specific as to cause and lab confirmations."

I can relate.

The number I have seen commonly quoted is approximately 36k deaths per year from complications for seasonal influenza.

well, that's a little odd, considering the number of people killed by the seasonal flu is said to be around 30k, now it's 10k? and that h1n1 is 5x - so are they saying that seasonal flu, in the past has "only" killed 2k people?

So, what is it? 2k, 10k, 30k?

THIS is the kind of stuff that makes me wonder what on earth people are thinking. If they can't keep their numbers straight, how are we really to take them seriously?

"HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said 100 million H1N1 vaccines will have been delivered or would be ready for order by the end of the week."

I cannot wait to see what kind of campaign slogan will come out of this one! Wow! 1 Million served - how many of those would have positive titers if tested???

"The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 47 million Americans have been infected with H1N1, nearly 10,000 have been killed by it and more than 200,000 hospitalized.

EBBING SECOND WAVE

"The number of children and young adults killed by mid-November was five times more than in the average flu season," CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden said.

"We have an ebbing second wave but we have an uncertain future."

School vaccinations have worked well and CDC may press to keep the programs for seasonal influenza, Frieden said."

Huh?
