http://mystateline.com/fulltext-news/?nxd_id=171035

The canine influenza was first discovered in 2004 in greyhounds at a Florida dog racing track. Since then, the highly contagious virus has seen an outbreak in 33 states.

And, I thought it was rough that we had to buy pet insurance now!

Why not? They need something to do with the excess supply. Next discovery will be flu shots for all household pets and cattle.

LOL! Around here, they couldn't GIVE the H1N1 vaccine away. They dropped the price and ran an ad in the local paper about the reduced price. When that didn't work, they put nurses in every grocery store and pharmacy - next I saw signs saying "free" for those without insurance...followed up of course with a write-up in the paper about how they were giving it away *free* to insure that everyone was able to get their much needed vaccines!

Create a scare and create a vaccine...the sheeple will come! Or at least that's what they thought!

Poor dogs, is all I got to say. My dog lives outside - yet she didn't get H1N1 - not even when the entire family came down with it! Mildest flu we ever had!
