Any thoughts on this video? I can't tell who produced it - it's definitely professionally done though.
Looks like the CDC posted it.
The flu data came from the CDC's National Vital Statistics Reports:
April 19, 2006, Volume 54, Number 13October 12, 2004, Volume 53, Number 5 September 18, 2003, Volume 52, Number 3September 6, 2002, Volume 50, Number 15September 21, 2001, Volume 49, number 8
And the AAP: "AAP News" August 2002
People think its just a rumor that you can get the flu from a vaccine against the flu...but when you see it for yourself, it becomes obvious that it's not just a rumor.
Do you have a resource for those statistics? I'm just asking because someone posted this link on another board I frequent and I wanted to be able to post some intelligent argument. I did find this:
Dr. Tom Jefferson from the Cochrane Collaboration said:In children under 2 years inactivated vaccines had the same field efficacy as placebo, and in healthy people under 65 vaccination did not affect hospital stay, time off work, or death from influenza and its complicationshttp://www.cochrane.org/
So I'm preaching to the choir? Sorry.
One thing I wonder is if NSAIDS play any role in the deaths. I'm thinking, flu = fever. Fever means drug child immediately right?
I know I drugged my child with them when we all got the flu (vaccinated husband included). I'm just guessing that other parents would too, and then the hospital would give more...
I'm wondering... what is it about these children that die... that make them more susceptible to it... or I guess in broader terms - allows them to die from. I guess I'm curious as to what a combination of factors would look like to allow this scenario.
For the record... we no longer vaccinate in our home... so I'm just trying to make sense out of all the "fear".
Of course it's professionally done. A shabby video would not make you fear the flu!
The fact is, that in 1999, before flu vaccines were recommended and administered to children, just 25 children in the US under 5 years of age died from influenza. In 2000, that number was 19, in 2001, it was 13. In 2002, there were 12 deaths of children under the age of 5.
Think about that - that was our flu history in the US!
Notice I said "was" because then they began to mass vaccinate with the flu vaccine. What happened next? We saw 90 influenza deaths in children under the age of five! Yep, that’s right, NINETY! The deaths went from 12 to 90!
I've read enough to know that the professionals do not have a grip on what's going on with so many new strains of the flu - they are overwhelmed! I myself never had the flu until my husband got the vaccine. I have not had the flu since he stopped getting the vaccine. I combine THAT with the above, a little common sense, a little reading about how ineffective each year's "new and improved" vaccine is...and it's a no-brainer.
