Get THIS!

So in a rare moment of freedom (ie: no 2 year old hounding me) I am actually watching morning tv and catch "The Doctors." I was curious as I love all the Dr.Sears', and Dr.Jim is on. They are talking about Hep A and what to do when you catch it etc. The ER doc suggests that after you've dealt with the symptoms you should then go get the vaccine!!!! WTF?????? Doesn't he remember basic immunology he learned at med school; once you catch it you're immune for life; why get the vaccine???

I may be wrong, but some diseases don't work that way. You should visit over there though, they need some intelligent thinking people to at least balance out the brainwashed. I've been in the middle of at least two threads and if I had time I would try to do more.

If I get time, I'll see what I can find about Hep A. I know it's vaccine has a very short lived life, just as it's brother-vaccine Hep B...

That was easy, I was wrong...Wikipedia says:

"Hepatitis A infection causes no clinical signs and symptoms in over 90% of these children and since the infection confers lifelong immunity, the disease is of no special significance to the indigenous population. In Europe, the United States and other industrialized countries, on the other hand, the infection is contracted primarily by susceptible young adults, most of whom are infected with the virus during trips to countries with a high incidence of the disease.

Hepatitis A does not have a chronic stage and does not cause permanent liver damage. Following infection, the immune system makes antibodies against the hepatitis A virus that confer immunity against future infection."

That vaccine recommendation is a good match up with the folks who recommend that everyone who catches measles should be sure and get an MMR ASAP.

Whatever happened to rational thought?

Hahaha Sorry that made me laugh because it's so true.

As a student of rational though, I wonder the same thing.

So sad.

It's sad that the general public puts so much trust in their doctors. I was just reading from a listserv where Pediatricians were discussing vaccines for adolescence. Their dilemma was over the fact that children aren't coming in annually for well visits past age 6. By the time the child comes in for vaccines (age 11), they need many vaccines all at once. Since the good doctors don't like to give this many in one visit, they were discussing breaking them into more than one visit. One doctor suggested that they need to take advantage of sick visits and give a vaccine or two early so that by the time the vaccine appointment comes around, there will be less jabs. Now I realize that not all sickness "types" would interfere with vaccines, but no one ever mentioned not giving a vaccine or two to a sick kid.

Because I have read many stories of vaccinating sick kids, this didn't surprise me.

good example of the way vaccine "requirements" trump good medicine and good sense. Doctors are supposed to be considering the needs of the individual patient, right?

I love watching that show in general but if you are one of those people that believe everything they say...you (general) will be in trouble!

Dr. Lisa (the ob/gyn) said that toxoplasmosis is carried in a cats urine and that's why pregnant women shouldn't have cats! First off it's in their feces.... anyway

And Dr Sears cracks me up because he says stupid stuff like "I worry about deodorant with aluminum because some people believe aluminum is related to Alzheimers" yet every day his nurses inject kids with vaccines that probably have more aluminum than you would ever get through using deodorant!

My husband and I were just talking about that. It's not the first time he's said something about aluminum either. (They know!) I have decided to record the shows just to see how many times one of the good doctor's talk about mercury in our foods and how bad it is. I'll make note of aluminum too while I'm at it...

For me, Dr. Lisa makes the show hard to watch. They did a show that was supposed to be about BOTH sides - home birth VS hospital birth. It was so one-sided - as the shows usually are...it turned out like the ones about Autism and Vaccines, what a joke those were!

I guess leaving the doctors defenseless on camera is something they just won't allow.

I'm getting sick of Dr Ordon on the show...since we all know plastic surgery is the answer to everything! lol

I know I've heard Sears mention aluminum several times and I keep thinking about how I have his brother's book on my table by my tv and that's where I found out about aluminum in the vaccines to begin with...so you know he has to know about it!

Oh and then one day Sears was talking about Yellow 5 and different numbered food coloring being bad. Well the day before or so they were talking about using spray salad dressing instead of using so much dressing on salads...good idea but while I was looking at the spray dressing at the store, guess what? it has numbered food coloring in it! lol

I've noticed how the show contradicts itself from one day to the next!
