Actually it was a little over a year, her first Bday was in Oct and I remember still BFing at Valentines Day because I had a drink on my Anniversary (Valentines Day). The one thing I regret is giving her formula at all. If I could go back, she would have never had any formula but unfortunately I gave it to her at 6 months old.

Recently, I've read some scientific pieces on DHA and RHA and from what I understood of it, I was sickened by the mere thoughts of ever giving either child that man-made chemical concoction! My son was breastfed for a year too, but I'll answer on the other thread since he was partially vaccinated.

My stepson was a formula baby all the way and then went straight to cows milk. Brayden got soy milk because I didn't know any better (not enough fat for baby's brain). I did know that cows milk was bad - it was up for debate at the time and I didn't understand about the hormones and other crap until Vannah came along. She got cows milk and goats milk but I made sure the milk was not from cows shot up with hormones. Even still, there's other crap in cows milk from what I understand...it's not that healthy but she loves it. She's the only one in the family who will drink it without sugary chocolate added. I can't stand the stuff myself.

My initial goal was 12 months, then two years, then CLW. I am very proud we made it to five years and I agree BFing is VERY important for the immune system and general health. :)
