Ok I have a long story and want some opinions and information on the vaccination subject. This will be baby #6 for me and all my other kids are fully vaccinated, no problems that I am aware of. Well due to some event in my life, no one believes me when I tell them why so I don't want to get into it, I lost my kids to the state, at the time my youngest were a couple months behind on their so called shots and I was basically down graded for being a bad mom because they didn't have all their shots up to date. My youngest 4 have been adopted so they are not in my care and I have joint custody of my oldest daughter. I am afraid if I choose not to have this baby vaccinated that the state will try to take this baby from me even though I am perfectly able to take care of the baby, no problems in my life, and I take care of my oldest daughter just perfectly. My husband doesn't want to vaccinate and I really have been leaning towards not doing it, but wanted more information on the subject so I am well aware of the risks vs. benefits or whatnot. I was thinking of delaying until I had further information, but again afraid the state may step in, they seem so strict on certain things. I am under the impression that it is well in my rights to choose not to even have medical care for myself or my children yet feel threaten if I just choose not to have my children vaccinated. So I am looking for information on vaccinations and my rights as a parent. I don't want to fall victim to the state again for some lame reason. And no I am not a bad parent I was just poor and wasn't very well educated, not to mention a teen parent. Guess I'm being paranoid again, but I feel that I personally have no choice on how to raise my child even though they will be living with me. Any advice for anything? Thanks

Call your state's health department and ask for a copy of the specific laws/regulations that govern vaccination in your state. Then you will have proof in your hands of your legal rights. (I also always recommend asking for the number of recent cases reported for the diseases we vaccinate for so you get an idea of the risk in your area from delaying/skipping vaxxes.)

Best of luck to you --
