If H1N1 is SOOOO Deadly...

If this flu is supposedly so deadly, why aren't we hearing about how its killing hundreds of thousands of people all over the world? one would think by now, this "epidemic" would have an should have been killing thousands and thousands by now with no stopping. And their "theory" of northern and southern hemisphere flu cases, its sounds like a bunch of bull to me. Illnesses are really only a plane ride away if they are THAT contagious. The entire world should have caught it by now, with the way the "experts" are talking. Talking thru the seat of their pants, maybe.
I think the "epidemic "is going to come when they start giving out the vaccine against it.
I have also noticed all the tv ads lately are purporting to stave off ALL flu virus if you use this antibacterial spray or that kind of wipes...what propaganda!

Epidemic doesn't equal deadly, it just means wide spread.

Keep in mind it is the media that has pushed this completely out of proportion.. or so it appears. The "experts" have activated the plan that has been in place in the event of a pandemic flu outbreak (which a swine flu (or avian flu) always has the potential of being, if it mutates in a certain way).. at the first sign of what could potentially cause widespread disease and death -- they started making the vaccine and encouraging people to get it before a pandemic hits .. we still don't know what will happen this winter or how many cases there will be. The "experts" have done their job .. the media is responsible for attempting to cause widespread panic.

The media took the story and ran back when the first cases popped up from Mexico. I'm not saying there is nothing to be concerned about at all .. just that the media is all too happy to blow it WAY up.

I agree with that to an extent.

Other "problems" at epidemic levels in the US: STD's, stupidity, teen pregnancies... Should people be dying off just because it's at an epidemic level? I believe in stopping a problem before it progresses.

Disclaimer: I guess there's a meanie word in my post, but I'm not calling anyone stupid. I just had one of "those" days and am sick of my town lol.

Maybe not b/c from teen pregnancies or STDs .. but eliminating stupidity might not be a bad thing .. ;)

I heard this morning on the radio that abortion kills more than all diseases combined. I wish I could have heard the whole story but we were in the car so the kids were yapping and I didn't hear it all. I just felt so sad after hearing that!

And since its raining today, I'm inside reading the board. I just wanted to point out that I have no clue where you got the idea that my skin is brown. Like your children, I took after my Dad's side of the family - Irish. I am very fair skinned with blue eyes and what *used to be* blond hair. My brother looked nothing like me, he took after my Mom and had that olive skin tone that I so desired as a teen. But that has always had me wondering if our DNA was so different and that is why the same vaccine didn't leave me with brain damage, like it did him. But then with Autism, there is an obvious difference in boys and girls too. My point is that the strain is the same, it's how we each react to it that makes it different, i.e, deadly complications for some but very mild for others.

"I believe in stopping a problem before it progresses." I have a suspicion that this particular flu was man-made, not naturally mutated.

Also in your 3am posts, you had me mixed up with CriticalThinker. You have never commented on my parenting skills. I just wanted to point that out...
