I don't believe that vaccines caused my son's autism nor do I believe it causes autism in general.

That is entirely possible. I can not refute your opinion. Autism is not really something that weighs heavily

Ah, makes good sense. I have an interest in autism, but am relatively neutral, leaning toward "protect the herd", on vaccines.

Again, thanks for the volley.

Funny, when Offit sat on the vaccine approval committee - no one said anything at all about conflicts of interest. I could go on and on about other conflicts of interest but I won't, I've wasted my time with it before and no replies. I'm used to the no reply stuff though. When they have nothing, they look for ways to lie, when it gets iffy, they bolt. But when they are led to believe that this story is so glorious with what they want to be true - wow! I just sit back and read in amazement! It's really sad that people can be so misguided so easily. To me, this just says that many people don't have the ability to understand what they are reading so when they get a hold of something like this, they run with it...never mind that it doesn't prove anything except that the pharma companies will blacklist you if you try to prove what you know to be true.

I can't believe how this Wafefield stuff is being used. Its down right funny. No, these people are not brainwashed AT ALL.

Why did it take 11 years to finally bring this to an end? Well at least now maybe they can move on and do some real studies, some LONG TERM studies. Oh but there's that whole placebo thing standing in the way...I forgot.

HE acted unethically???

Yes, and we all know that this was the one and only example of anyone EVER acting "unethical" in the world of medicine and science.

"I don't know. If they do I do not think it is the MMR alone, it is more likely imo that the children that regress after vaccines were already predisposed to autism genetically."

What other genetic predispositions occur at a rate of 1 in 91? (I'm just sayin.)

Personally, I think that "trigger" stuff is just more excuses to look elsewhere, more excuses to continue to look the other way.

"I don't think research into whether vaccines can cause/trigger autism should stop because of this though."

Who's researching this that you know of? (Serious question)

"Do we really need to give every single baby born a hepatitis B vaccine 12 hours after he/she emerges from the womb? Why not test the mom? At the very least explain to the parents WHY they are vaccinating the baby at 12 hours old and let them make a more informed decision instead of using the blanket "we need to protect them from disease". Do we really need to give all of these vaccines this early? No."

I hope that one day you will see these questions for what they truly are - the answers. (Said with love, Charlotte!)

No, if that article irritated you - I CERTAINLY don't need to read it! I've read enough of the lies over time and after being looked in the eye and lied to by my kids doctors - no I don't need to read it. BTDT

Some kids only get one vaccine. For some, the one vaccine came only hours before seizures, death or autistic behaviors. You should review some older pieces regarding the DPT. But they are hard to find online. One day I'm gonna make copies of all the stuff I printed a long time ago and scan it. I'll be sure to post it all here when I do.

The pharmaceutical companies acting unethically does not give Wakefield the right or ok to do the same.

That may be true, but in most cases what vaccine could have caused the reaction cannot be substantiated for the fact (if you're following the recommended vaccine schedule) the child can be vaccinated for 6 things at one time, sometimes more if they're needing to "catch-up."

I'm glad you came back and clarified your point about breastfeeding and autism.
