I don't believe that vaccines caused my son's autism nor do I believe it causes autism in general.

Just out of curiousity, was your son ever dx'd with autism?

Is the study on women who lost loved ones focusing on cortisol or some other hormonal disruption that occured as a result of the stress from the loss?

All I know is that I have a son with autism, and whatever caused it is irrelevant.

Most of the pro-vax side in one sentence (yes, I read the other boards too) will say that they have researched this topic. Yet, the truth eventually comes out...not that we need it to. It's quite obvious when someone hasn't researched a thing and when they have. Quite obvious.

That is why I like to refer back to the days when the schedule was not this overwhelming. When I was a child, we didn't get that many and never did we get more than one at a time. We still had autism, only it wasn't called autism, the words were "mental retardation". I hate that phrase, I know anyone with autism in their family must hate it even more, but ignoring history won't make it go away. Still they continue to ignore it as if it didn't happen. Probably because the numbers were small, and so were the numbers of vaccines given.

"but in most cases what vaccine could have caused the reaction cannot be substantiated for the fact"

I believe that its the reason for multiple vaccines. The sad thing is that parents believe that they've tested and researched this combination vaccinating. But they haven't.

Please stick around and ask questions.

"can you imagine the agony of hoping you did the right thing?"

I don't need to imagine it, I've lived it. I'm so thankful that I eventually learned not to fall for the scare tactics. Most of what you hear about vaccines being studied is a lie. I learned that when I began to confront my child's doctors. Please stick around here and read read read - then read some more :). You'll have a huge weight lifted off your shoulders if you do. I did, and I thank God for the women who helped me understand it better.

Well at least the Canadian government is doing a study because the US government won't.

I guess all the never vaccinated kids just didn't live in the same environments as the vaccinated kids. That explains why autism is rarely found among never-vaccinated populations?

"As people who are robotic and sit in a corner and rock, when it's sooo not like that in many cases."

No, we don't see a lot of that since the DPT was re-formulated. The brain damage is less severe with the a-cellular formula. But prior to that, the damage was usually very severe. Please forgive me for the use of the word "damage" but its the word used in what I've been reading.

Yes, I didn't mean to sound callous when I said that.

Actually, while I don't have figures to prove otherwise, I've read many, many articles about people who believed that their first child developed autism because of vaccines, and subsequently didn't vaccinate their other, younger children.
