Jenny McCarthy rips Amanda Peet over vaccinations

Former Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy and actress Amanda Peet are publicly feuding over the safety of childhood vaccines. Who says there's nothing sexy about inoculations?

Their dispute revolves around the belief among some parents of children with autism—including McCarthy —that certain vaccines may trigger the disorder, although scientific research has shown no evidence of any link.

Peet, a mother and advocate for childhood vaccinations, said in a recent magazine interview that parents who don't vaccinate their children because of autism fears are "parasites."

That made McCarthy very angry, almost as angry as the people who paid to see her recent movie "Witless Protection," in which she starred alongside Larry the Cable Guy.

In an article published Wednesday in Spectrum Magazine, McCarthy said Peet "has a lot of balls to come forward and be on that side, because there is an angry mob on my side. I like the fact that I can say she's completely wrong."

Peet apologized for her word choice but called it irresponsible to suggest that groups like the American Academy of Pediatrics are engaged in a massive coverup of harmful vaccines.

McCarthy said in the article released Wednesday that the American Academy of Pediatrics "sucks."

Too bad the Wall Street bailout debate is devoid of celebrity combatants. Just imagine how spicy it would be if Heidi Klum was ripping Kate Hudson for her stance on credit default swaps.

Me-OW!

LOL! Your first post totally mellowed me out. I'm glad you responded because it made me re-read the thread. I come across as a bit@4 sometimes and don't even realize it unless I read the posts weeks later...I'm really very nice in real life but don't get into it with me on the subject of vaccines because I WILL get a little crazy, even face to face.

You should read that Jenny Rips Amanda story and all the comments. Those are quite shocking and interesting to say the least! A website you may enjoy is that new show "The Doctors". I have been recording it every morning and I love to watch it but it too makes me crazy. I have not seen your screenname around IV but this board has taught me an amazing amount of information, stick around there's some really bright and educated women who frequent here.

I don't post on here much! Sorry, I responded to another person and wasn't meant to be towards you. This message board isn't set up like others. I need to just add qoutes from those I am responding to so no mix up. I really appreciate you standing up for those peoples rights who may not or do not want to vaccinate their kids.

I am passionate about it as well. I have family messed up by mercury, and a friend's who's son is autistic. I also work in healthcare and I see a

I understand. Thanks for the links. I am on a path of learning about chiropractic medicine (healing) VS modern day medicine (masking with pharmaceuticals). It is very refreshing to hear from someone who actually works in the medical industry and is well versed on vaccine dangers. I know what you mean about the format. I got used to this type format long ago so other formats baffle me. You can change the To: to read "ALL" here but I tend to forget to do it myself.

I have not researched Gulf War Syndrome but I'm likely to believe its more of the same old "tell them and they'll believe it" crap from our government.

Keep on standing up for what you believe - there's not enough of that going on in this country!

Chiropractic, that's cool. I want to become an a doctor of naturopathic medicine. I have been learning a lot about that recently. I am going to try and do the same degree my ND did. He was a dentist, and was exposed to high amounts of mercury by making dental amalgams, and placing and replacing hem. His heart stopped on him. The docs said he would have permanent memory damage, but he has been detoxing with great success, he even got 3 more degrees since they told him he wouldn't be able to remember things. Sometimes docs do more harm than good. They give us little hope it seems. I think ALL things are possible.

Boyd Haley told me some cool things about Gulf Wat Syndrome. I've talked with him a couple of time on the phone and a lot via email. Kepe me posted on what you learn!
