How do you rank the reliability of information?

There are a couple, possibly immediate, steps that could be taken to reduce health care costs to the consumer. First and foremost, eliminate direct-to-consumer advertising. The pharmaceutical industry would then be forced to release its stranglehold on news networks, thus freeing up possibly billions in dollars of advertising that is passed on to consumers. It doesn't take a whole of genius to see that prescription drugs are about 4x the cost in the US than they are anywhere else in the world.

RE: breast cancer detection and today pap smears. I have heard from several sources (beyond this forum) that it's all about govt control. I would be inclined to think it has far more to do with big insurance figuring out how to cut corners themselves before any sort of bill (whether it stays in it's current form is highly debatable) is passed.

Perhaps a tin hat is warranted, but there it is. On a side note I received my first pap at 22, at 23 I was diagnosed with stage three precancerous cells. By today's new recommendation who knows what would have occurred in that extra 12 months. Personally I'm sticking to the every year and will start mammograms before my 40th birthday.

I think the media did a horrible job reporting this.

"He is a conspiracist of the highest order."

Let's just make this simple here. Are there anyone who doesn't believe that vaccines are safe who is NOT considered (by you and yours) a conspiracy theorist?

"this is simply alarmist propoganda."

So - specifically what part of it is not true?

Bottom line is "Know your sources" and know why they do what they do...

"Congratulations - you have discovered...nothing."

Was I supposed to be discovering something?

Gee, and I was just trying to add to your post - to insure that folks knew how trustworthy "science" is when it has financial conflicts of interest to attend to.

And could you just drop the whole Wakefield thing??? Most of us are simply sick and tired of the debate. We all know why the man was blacklisted, its old news.

"But unlike the world in which you place your faith"

What world would that be Jon - the one where the truth is obvious and so are the lies told by the opposing side? I'm much rather live in that one, than in your corrupt world of "science based medicine" where the truth is ignored, distorted and diluted.

You should start a new business called "Science Based Journalism" since the journalist appear to be so lacking. Then you could really hide the truth - and wow, you could confuse the public at the same time you hide the truth.

Take it world-wide! But I gotta warn ya, not everyone is as dumbed down as you would need them to be. But you could just arrange it where the rest of the world would kill them (us) all off...that way, you might could achieve your herd immunity!!!
