Looking for info

Hi I have never been on any of these debate boards before because I don't like to debate things. I am looking for info and I want to get all info I can by Thursday. I should start with telling you my story. I have a wonderful little girl on December 23. She was born at 37 weeks. She had no problems so the next day they sent us home. She did get the Hep B vaccine before coming home. About 20 minutes after coming home she stopped breathing and her heart stopped. My mother-in-law preformed CPR on her and she started breathing again. She was in the hospital for about a week. They did tons of tests and we left with them telling us that it was SIDS that we caught. WE are not totally satisfied with this answer so we where doing research on our own. We found this website that talked about how kids who went through the same thing as our daughter where latter found to have problems with their brains. We have not got her brain checked yet. WE are going to make an appointment to get this done on her 2 month appointment. Well anyways another thing we found with all this research is some scary things with the vaccine that she has received. We are now trying to figure out the truth behind these vaccines before her next appointment on Friday. She is due for more of the vaccines and we are now not sure if we want her to have them. That is why I came here. I am looking for any and all websites on vaccines. I would like both sides to this argument. I thought that everyone here would be able to help me since you can not argue your side without having facts. Thank you for your help.

look under the back to basics section

Also check out the quick picks which provides information by vaccine and disease.

Good place to start from

And a good question to start with is: why would anyone give a baby a hepatitis B vaccine when they are newborn? Especially if there is no reason to believe that the baby has been exposed to the disease. If this vaccine is crazy (I think it is), can you trust anything else the vaccine pushers tell you?

Good luck with your research. I'd also like to suggest that you either skip the next appointment or go to it but say that you are delaying vaccines until you figure out what happened to your baby. At this point the doctor may try to get you to sign a form which says that you know you are endangering your baby by not vaccinating. Or the doctor may threaten with kicking you out of the practice for not vaccinating. Again, is this behavior that inspires trust? If possible, have someone go to the appointment with you to observe what goes on and support you if the doctor starts acting like a bully over the vaccines.

I don't think our dr will try to push us into it to much. We have already told her that Noelle is not getting the chicken pox vaccine and at that point we where told that many of her patents don't vaccinate their kids. She did tell us that the school requires it but I told her that we are planing on Homeschooling anyways. We have a dr that is very good at listening and working with us. But if we do decide not toandshe does try to pressure us I am the one that will stand up to her if needed. My husband comes to every appointment with me. Thanks very much for the link I am going to go read it now.

You are fortunate to have such a reasonable doctor. My post was based on many stories I've heard from other parents about their unpleasant experiences.

Good luck. I hope some other people post their best links, too.

My sister had a story like that. She warned me what I might be in for if I don't give Noelle vaccinations. I told her I would switch DR nut maybe that is because I am spoiled with the Dr I have.

SIDS is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome which is the generic answer given for "unexplainable" deaths in infants. I'm curious at how you could have a diagnosis of SIDS given that there was no death (Thank God).

Hi Tanya,

Welcome to our board.

I posted this a while back: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-ppvaccinedb&msg=4252.2 It's the method I used to do our vaccine research.

My own DD had adverse events to the Hep B vaccine (seizures) and as a result we stopped vaccination. The ped. disagrees but our Doctor agrees and wrote to our public health authority on our behalf. We'll never vaccinate her again as a result.

DD has a full series of three Hep shots, and a second partial series from another brand manufacturer. She experienced PRIMARY vaccine failure to all of the vaccinations but experienced seizures as a result of the vaccines.

If you would like to talk about Hep B vaccination by all means email me through my profile.

Good luck with your decision,

I know you said you are planning on homeschooling but for you and anyone else who believes the statement "vaccines are required for schooling" that is spread by doctors and the media, let me remind anyone and everyone out there who doesn't know:

All fifty states have legislation mandating specified vaccines for students. Although exemptions vary from state to state, all school immunization laws grant exemptions to children for medical reasons. Almost all states, except Mississippi and West Virginia, grant religious exemptions for people who have religious beliefs against immunizations. Twenty states allow philosophical exemptions for those who object to immunizations because of a personal, moral or other beliefs.
(from ncsl.org)

No matter how many times they want to throw around the word "required" it just isn't so and is more scare tactics from the provaxers.

My mother has a scar on her throat from the exact same diagnosis when she was a baby i will have to ask my grandmother more about it but i know they said it was SIDS but caught in time.

I agree. This sounds much more like apnea. I don't understand how you can diagnose "death" to a living person. Scratching my head.
