As cunchymomto2 (and others) have accused myself (and others) of being paid pharmacy advocates - I thought Dr David Gorski's reprint of this tired ad hominem would be instructive.

From that site:
"Milk production requires about 800 calories a day."
That's far below an adequate nutritionally intake.
I don't really mean to take issue with that statement, I just don't think that breastfeeding is that hard when the right supports are in place in the community.
We've lost our cultural knowledge of breastfeeding that was handed down to new mothers. And when I see thing like "the ability to BF is based heavily on your....." it always reads like a "barrier". There truly aren't many barriers to BFing and that includes medications.
I BF my daughter for 5 years and we used BM to treat pink eye, ear infections, clean out wounds and all sorts of other things. :) I think BM is a wonderful thing!
"Additionally, the ability to breast feed successfully is heavily dependent on mother's health and nutrition."
Could you explain that a little bit further?
Rands,
That's a good question.
WRT safety - this is the problem (one of) that I have with the whole thing: (quick disclaimer so not to confuse any issue, a vaccine could be 100% safe, and I'd still avoid them like the plague, pending no changes in conditions) - (I'll address your scale at the very bottom, but I believe an introduction to the scale is due)...
Considering we're talking about measles, should an AE occur, to which component was it related to? Measles? Mumps? Rubella? (possibly chicken pox if receiving the MMRV)? The same will also obviously hold true to other combo vacc's.
