I believe every vaccine insert states under the CONTRADICATION section:

IT IS A CONTRAINDICATIONS TO ADMINISTER MENOMUNE A/C/Y/W-135 TO INDIVIDUALS

KNOWN TO BE SENSITIVE TO THIMERSOAL OR AN OTHER COMPONENT OF THE VACCINE.

or

KNOWN HYPERSENSITIVITY TO ANY COMPONENT LISTED UNDER THE COMPOSITION ABOVE

or

SHOULD NOT BE ADMINISTERED TO SUBJECTS WITH KNOWN HYPERSENSITIVITY TO ANY COMPONENT OF THE VACCINE PREPARATION, OR TO SUBJECTSHAVING SHOWN SIGNS OF HYPERSENSITIVITY AFTER PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION.

or something to that effect.

I am curious to know how many parents have witnessed their drs testing thier babies for sensitivities to the components of the vaccines to be administered before injecting their child.

Well I know that I was asked by the nurse if there was any family history of vaccine reactions. I make it a point since getting pg with my first to know my family history. I think that its my responsibilty to do that.

God Bless,

How do you test for it?

LOL, uh no~ I weigh my risks & benefits and watch after the first rounds. And that's the way I'd keep it, if I were having any more children.

LOL Lucky - exactly.....what is the "test" for it? In the instance of vaccine PI's, the "avoid if sensitive to...." is pertaining to previous reactions to vaccines and/or reactions to other substances encountered outside of vaccines. There is no implication that I see for "testing" all children prior to vaccinating. The incidence of severe allergic reaction to a vaccine component (ie, of the type to preclude further vaccination) is exquisitely low. It would make about as much sense as "testing" for a peanut or strawberry allergy in every single child who intends to eat these things (of course, as far as I know, peanuts and strawberries do not protect against diseases).
