I must say, I'm not all that shocked that the "deadly" measles isn't that bad. ;-) And I won't be shocked that this info will more than likely not be "public knowledge" spread by doctors and mainstream media!
Photobucket Thanks to Andie for my siggy!

No...... you don't say???

LOL - true story... a couple nights ago, I received a random call from a Scientist on a topic completely UNRELATED to what we're discussing - however, in general conversation, I let them know I didn't vaccinate my children. .

"Thank God for holistic doctors!"

I second that. My son will soon begin chiropractic treatment for his allergies and ... if I can type it without wigging out..."asthma".

We don't need treatment for his "asthma" at the moment (he only *catches it* in the fall) but we will nip that in the bud while being treated for allergies. Since, well, asthma is basically the same as "allergies" from what I've been learning.

Okay, I'll let the sarcasm go for a minute. My 9 yr old was given asthma drugs back in the fall. One has a side-effect of suicidal thoughts and tendencies so a lifelong dosing of it seems rather stupid, in my opinion, so I didn't give him that or the other drug (an inhaler). I didn't do the "breathing treatment" either. And wow, he's still with us - not a single *asthma* attack - but of course he never had one of those before being diagnosed! The light wheezing stopped as soon as he stopped being around the hay, no drugging required. I guess you could call it a medical miracle.

UGH!

the shocking part was this article being published in Pediatrics, even if it is only in the online version.

I wonder why they let it through?

I've seen a few like that over the years.

It makes me want to take it into an appointment with a pediatrician and drill them. I think that parents often fail to realize that the doctors are not learning new discoveries unless they are reading, and they have little time for that I'm sure. So many will dismiss articles that go against the grain right away. I guess it's easier to go with what we were taught and not think outside the box.
