Swine Flu Hypothetical

Ok let's assume there is a pandemic and people are dying from the swine flu (particularly those unvaccinated, though some vaccinated have also died) this fall in much greater numbers than the seasonal flu.

For those not vaxing, would that change your opinion and make you reconsider vaccinating for it?

It doesn't change my opinion but we were having a rowdy in person debate over this scenario :)

It's obvious that this is nothing more than setting the stage..... predict it now so when it occurs, it's just a bunch of hyper people that it would have happened to anyway....

I am expecting to see more cases because of the flu mist being a live virus, although I must say if I were being forced to choose one form over the other I would choose the mist just because the virus would be entering the body in a manner more consistent with nature (I mean not really, but better than IM imo).

This is probably a good place to post this article that just came out. Personally, I love the term "so called".

Not just no, but hell no. Not gonna happen, baby! In the swine flu statistics given to justify this crap (hundreds of thousands of deaths) that was prior to the sanitation laws being passed here in the US. Scale up to the next emergency that occurred, and more died from the cure than they did the disease.

Interestingly enough, in a different article and blog about 2 weeks ago talkinga bout this, an ER doctor came on stating that if someone catches the flu while in the hospital and dies, their COD written on the DC is listed as "flu", regardless of if they're int he ICU to begin with because of an almost fatal car accident. Accurate reporting/record keeping just doesn't exist, so I'll rely on my common sense.

Shall we look at now that it's being fast tracked through the FDA? (not that slow tracked meant a whole helluvalot to me). Nope, nope and nope.....

And Tash, I am wondering why "those unvaccinated" were dying. ;)

"For those not vaxing, would that change your opinion and make you reconsider vaccinating for it?"

Nope! It would make me serve more fruits and veggies though!

Oh, and I would probably stay home until it passes.

I'm wondering if we shouldn't expect to see more H1N1 when they start vaccinating!

We'll see.

Will it make a difference to some people?

We'll see. Most likely they'll say oh no, the flu was bad, and it spread worse than any other flu in hisory...except the 1910 flu...

Never paying any attention at all to WHY it spread like it did/will.
