Swine Flu Party?
101
Mon, 10-19-2009 - 12:01pm

I was reading this blog and wondered about it. This H1N1 flu worries me - mostly because they're pushing the vax for it through so quickly. I keep wondering why they're doing that.

But, would you have a Swine Flu Party?

"Our pediatrician opined that the likelihood of contagious from attenuated vaccine is so slim that our child need not avoid immune-compromised or other high risk family members after getting Flumist."

"So Slim"? Consider for a moment that there is no system in place to keep up with how many are affected by vaccines, attenuated or not. So how does he know the actual numbers? Does he know the actual numbers??? And what is the name of this group who has been keeping these numbers?

Ask him, where does his numbers come from?

Correct me if I'm wrong ladies, as I'm going through a similiar challenge (military)...

wouldn't however the nasal route pose more of a danger to those around?

According to the CDC:
"In clinical studies, transmission of vaccine viruses to close contacts has occurred only rarely. The current estimated risk of getting infected with vaccine virus after close contact with a person vaccinated with the nasal-spray flu vaccine is low (0.6%-2.4%). Because the viruses are weakened, infection is unlikely to result in influenza illness symptoms since the vaccine viruses have not been shown to mutate into typical or naturally occurring influenza viruses."
"People who are in contact with others with severely weakened immune systems when they are being cared for in a protective environment (for example, people with hematopoietic stem cell transplants), should not get LAIV (FluMist®). People who have contact with others with lesser degrees of immunosuppression (for example, people with diabetes, people with asthma taking corticosteroids, or people infected with HIV) can get LAIV (FluMist®)."

Obviously this is flu information, not chicken pox, but it seems to give a hint as to what they consider "slim".

Humm...and what would they say if you asked them where they got their numbers???

And if you asked them how many $'s in pharmaceutical stock are they holding right now - what would they say?

Have you ever had the flu and didn't go to the doctor?

If you do run to the doctor every sickness, does your doctor report this to some "reporting agency"? Is this mandatory in your state?

WHERE do their numbers come from???

That was one clinical study (done by the manufacturer) and 2.4 means one in 42 kids transmitted it.

Is there any answer I could give that wouldn't be shot down based on a conspiracy theory of greed?

For people that seem awfully concerned with the transmission of weakened viruses, you seem awfully unconcerned with the transmission of full-strength viruses.

Just figure out where the numbers come from will ya? In this country, when people get the flu or the chickenpox - WHO are they reporting to???

And you are the one using the word "conspiracy", not me. I'm TRYING to use logic here...answer the question.
