Here's a story every parent needs to watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL2mRJMnqKI
Let's talk about it.
Barbara Majeski
Max's Mom
Thanks for sharing your story. I think that everyone should study these diseases and realize that they are really not to be feared, they are not deadly, not today given the medications and advancements in infection control. And as far as the Hep B goes, why would ANY person, parent or doctor, think that a newborn needs to be protected from a sexually transmitted disease? I've asked...and here are some of the absurd answers I got.
My favorite - from my own pediatric doctor (at the time): "Because parents are not likely to bring the child in when he's old enough to share needles or have sex."
Had I not been so ignorant at the time, I could have come back with: "Really? 'Cause how long before this vaccines wanes?" And if my doctor was remaining honest with me - he would reply with "We don't know, it's different for everyone.". And then I could have said "But do you think it will still protect him when he's old enough to have sex or do drugs?" And if my doctor was still being honest with me - he would reply with "We don't know, that is why we offer booster shots too."
Other doctors and parents have told me this:
"But what if he picks up a syringe and it sticks him, and it was contaminated with Hep B?"
Well I don't know about the rest of you, but I watch my toddler and preschooler. I check for dangers at the park before they play - yes I've been up and down many a slide in my day - even got stuck in one at Chick Filet. I have shown my 4 year old a syringe, she is capable of not picking it up when she sees one. All you have to do is remind them and have "park rules" that you go over before each outing.
A parent once told me that my child could get Hep B from a public pay-phone. Yes, some people are that ignorant about Hep B. Most parents are, I used to be too! Then I learned not to put so much faith in doctors because they are trained to lie to you. Most are so brainwashed that they themselves don't even realize that what they tell you in regard to vaccines is often a flat-out lie.
A parent on this message board once told me that my child could be playing football with a child who has Hep B and could get it that way. After I and others educated her on the topic, she then decided that it could still happen. My child could have a fresh cut, that child could have a fresh cut - and *somehow* in the midst of playing football, these two fresh cuts could meet and both being bloody - that would make my kid infected with Hep B.
I could tell you more, but those are my favorites. I have studied these diseases and they are not as scary as the vaccine, nor are they as dangerous. The only reason anyone can say otherwise is because they don't consider Autism an adverse reaction to a vaccine.
I'm sorry you and Max had to go through such a terrible ordeal. Again, thanks for sharing your story.
I agree. My son, when he was only 7 years old asked me "Why don't they just stop vaccinating and see if Autism stops?". I replied with "Because they're not as smart as you!"
I later explained about the huge industry and how incredibly rich it is.
Sigh...I wrote something and thought better of it.
