Vitamin K Injection?

Please help by sharing with me your knowledge, experience, & opinions. My baby is due in 3 weeks. I'm 42. I've decided, with no doubts, against the Hep B shot. However my Midwife & doula have told me to accept the Vitamin K shot because it's not worth the fight. I'm currently working on my Birth Plan & Vaccine Exemption Statement which needs to be notarized & submitted. I'm feeling overwhelmed by everything at this point. What should I do?

Thank you

I guess you get your legal understanding from wherever citizen got his.

The "baby class" is teaching you how to do what the masses will do. Don't be one of those, do your homework.

I was being induced. I had decided the shot was the lesser risk.

Well, that was my first kid. Unfortunately, first born children are usually victims of learning experiences. But next time, I'll be there to ask questions.

I got the biggest lump in my throat when I read that. Brings back some memories I thought I had stuffed away... I haven't.

I just tell myself - Live and Learn!

My DS is fully aware of why he got vaccines and his sister didn't. He knows he escaped without harm.

My first thought when I read what Serenity wrote was all the second baby goes through that you weren't about to do with the first...so it balances out!

Hi Tracey. Thanks for your reply. I've been researching the VK. I wish I felt 100% comfortable with not getting it, but I don't. I'm a high risk pregnancy. This is my 1st baby at 42 years old. I have another risk factor also. I'm praying for a vaginal delivery. Complications & bruising play a part in the VK. Also, I didn't learn in time to eat lots of VK foods in order to not have the VK shot. Baby's due in 1 1/2 weeks. Another concern is that I've been on a prescription drug the last 3 weeks. Antibiotics & possibly other prescription drugs affect VK.

Although she will get the VK that will be the only injection she gets. She is not getting Hep B nor all the other vaccines.

Ouch! Contractions, gotta go bye.

Are you on an antibiotic right now?

What is your opinion on someone starting an antibiotic and not finishing the last two days worth? If you have to take one yourself, and got a yeast infection, what would you do to treat the yeast? I'm sorry, I don't mean to get personal but I am curious.
