WHY Won't They Do The Research?

http://autisminnb.blogspot.com/2009/02/vaccine-autism-war-why-wont-they-do.html

Apart from the many thousands of allegedly hysterical, delusional parents and allegedly fraudulent, huckster professionals who have raised safety concerns, particularly autism concerns, about vaccines two high ranking members of the American public health system have stated a need for more research of possible vaccine-autism connections.

Dr. Julie Gerberding, former head of the CDC and Dr. Bernadine Healy, former head of the NIH and the American Red Cross have BOTH indicated that more research of vaccine-autism issues COULD and SHOULD be done.

So WHY are public health authorities like the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee REFUSING to authorize funding to research possible vaccine-autism connections?

None of these ideas prove that autism is caused by a vaccine. Does anyone know the biochemistry of how the MMR vaccine work once injected? What carrier proteins are picking up molecules from the vaccine and taking them places, and what is happening then? (because the assumption is that they are not simply being removed and expelled as waste). Also, how specifically does Autism work in the body, does Autism have a genetic basis in the sense that it's related to protein synthesis? What causes autism?

The study I am referring to would be for long term safety and would encompass autism but not be limited to it.

"Neuroscientists, biochemists, and molecular biologists have verified that there is no relationship between autism and vaccines."

Really? Does that mean you have read these *verifications* yourself? And I bet they are totally without bias and financial conflicts of interest aren't they? How about sharing them, do you mind? 'Cause I know that most of us here have been asking for those for a very long time now...and no one is ever able to come up with those ever-so-vital unbiased studies.

And since you have such knowledge of all this, I am sure you won't mind also helping us understand why an MMR study was done in the first place and what exactly it proves when science does a study using ONE vaccine. I mean, most autistic children got way more than ONE vaccine - did they not? So what exactly do you wish to prove by bringing this up? Most of us here already know why the man was discredited. We also know WHY he was discredited.

Please don't be a one-hit wonder and maybe you can learn a few things.

Lets start with the basics. Can you tell us how many vaccines and boosters a child gets before the age of 5 or 6?

Wow, did Locke and Jon's contract run out? I'm assuming you are the replacement? Only one this time?

Nice to meet ya! Welcome to the board!

"In addition, psychiatry and neurological disorders are more understood and accepted now than they were 30+ years ago."

Yes they are! That would explain why 30/40 years ago, the doctor would tell a parent "I'm so sorry, it was an adverse reaction to the vaccine. And before you ask, no it's not reversible". What does the doctor say today? "No, absolutely no relationship to the vaccine at all." I know he was normal before the shots, but still, science says that vaccines don't cause brain damage."

READ THE PACKAGE INSERTS!!! You will find the opposite of the doctor's lies when you do.

AND -

A little history lesson would do you a lot of good.

"It seems like so many people make assumtions about health and medicine from rumors they hear or things they read on the internet."

You really should do some reading on this board before making such an idiotic statement which is only meant to do one thing - incite anger.

"This is so hairbrained and completely dangerous."

No, hair-brained is when someone accuses someone of something and that person herself is clueless. Where did this accusation come from? How many of us do you know here? Have you been reading threads from the past few years - is that how you think you know us?

Let's stick to facts and talk about our hair later, shall we?

"Finally, bashing medicine while also demanding solutions to medical problems is just obnoxious."

What? Have you seen people on this board demanding solutions? From whom??? You are so cracking me up...thanks for the fun on this cold and rainy day!

"Go to medical school and figure it out on your own if you're so concerned about it! Sheesh!"

I can barely get through one of your pharma-written, pharma-approved, pill-pushing textbooks without puking. Why the hell would I want to go to drug dealing school??? I have a degree, more than one actually - so I don't need another. I am not so stupid that I require a textbook, a teacher and a classroom to learn. Most of us here are perfectly capable of reading and understanding your pharma-garbage without said classroom, textbook and pharma-paid professors! So, don't come around here acting so high and mighty when what you know is one-sided and spoon-fed to you by those who you are trying to protect.

I personally do not believe it is simply the MMR.
