I wasn't, but I have seen this used on some of the birth shows that I have watched. They did give me some bright yellow socks to wear to keep my feet warm though. LOL
I had them with my first, but not with my second, but i was out of bed way sooner with #2, when i had #1 I was in bed for nearly 24 hours before i was "allowed" to get up, so maybe that's why, I don't really know, But the boots do feel really good, like a massage.
I'm pretty sure I did with both, but honestly I just don't remember for sure. My husband had them for his knee surgeries, too.
The funny thing is, when I first read this I thought "inflatable boobs." And then I thought, who could possibly need inflatable boobs, and what does that have to do with a c/s?
had then when in hospital for bed rest if you have small feet they may not work they had to wrap then almost twice around my feet and then it would beep bout every 20-30 min. so they gave me the serculation hose instead those fit lol
Jennifer, in my hospital, those socks weren't for warmth-they are so when staff see you, they know you are not allowed to be left unattended! They took my nice fuzzy ones off and made me wear the yellow ones until the day after.
As for the boots, yes, I had them. I don't remember if they put them on in recovery or back in my room. I think it was in my room. Seemed like the nurse took them off really soon though. She came and put them on, then came back and took them off after what seemed like less than an hour. I wish she'd left them on all day and night. Maybe that would have gotten my giant elephantitis leg swellinng down quicker.
LOL They flagged me, and I didn't even know it! LOL
Now, they may have put the inflatable boots on after the spinal and draping me. I don't remember that, and I don't remember them taking them off either, but who knows what all they did behind the curtain.
