Hi there,

Depending on how your recovery goes, you should be able to 'bend' the rules a little. All of my babies have been c/s and I was holding toddlers much sooner than the 6 weeks advisory. Is your little one walking yet? I found that once they were mobile, they were able to do a lot more to help themselves. My littler ones were (all but one) under two when the next baby arrived. And they were able to climb into strollers on their own, or almost on their own, and as far as bedtime goes, if I had a playpen, and same thing, I would get them to climb in with the help of some steps. I was fortunate to have help around the house after my c/s for the first couple weeks too. That gave me a few weeks to get the proper rest I needed to get recovery off to a good start. By 4 weeks. I was pretty much able to do most things as far as lifting toddlers into and out of things, but I still tried to take it easy.

Have you considered getting your toddler into a toddlers bed? That made bedtime easier because there was no lifting needed at all....

Hopefully you can figure something out, and I hope your recovery goes well!

I'm going for my 5th c/s on the 16th and my youngest will be a week away from his 2nd birthday, so I get to experience that whole thing again!

Good luck and take care!

Hello - my two kids were about the same age difference when my son was born...I wasn't allowed to drive for 6 weeks (which I wasn't quite as faithful about with the second one) so I didn't worry about a car seat - just something to ask your dr. ahead of time so there are no surprises...

Hi when I had my first two (both by c section) they were about the same months apart as yours.

Congrats on baby # 2. I am also pg, but not due till april. I am making my ds become as independant as possible. He is having to walk eveywhere. He can climb in & out of his stroller easily. I am making him learn how to get in & out of his car seat in an suv. I am waiting to get a toddler bed from my sis friend, She is currently reaserching twins. I will have him in it before christmas. I am hoping this helps him not need me to pick him up after my c-section.
Please let us know how you are & how your recovery is going. (((((hugs))))))
