With my ds#3, I had placenta previa up until like 30 wks or so, and even then it just moved barely off my cervix, just enough to allow for a vaginal delivery, but was still positioned low and in the front. So, I asked my doc that same question, IF I did end up with a c-section would the placental placement matter? And he told me no, that even if they had to cut right through it, things move so fast in a c-section that it wouldn't pose extra risk to me or the baby. It's just making sure that you have ALL of the placenta out once the delivery is over that really matters.

I'm sure it will move into correct place for you though cause most all do. I had the anterior placenta the last time around 16 weeks and by 20 weeks it had already moved up high. The only thing is with the placenta being in the front, it took much longer for me to be able to feel the baby moving around. :(

I had a conversation with one of my preggo friends today who had her 20 wk scan and found she has a low lying placenta too right now, and her doc gave her a little bit different news it seemed about how it would affect things if hers didn't move. She has had 2 prior c-sections too, and her doc said that did make the delivery a little bit riskier if the placenta doesn't move before her c-section. She will be rescanned at 28 wks and her doc said they could discuss more in depth then if the placenta was still low at that time. So, it definitely sounds like a something you may want to bring up to your doc if it does stay in place. Just had you in mind when she was telling me about it, and wanted to come back let you know!! GL!!! Still hoping it moves for you!!

I had an anterior placenta and by 32 weeks, it had moved sufficiently far enough away from my scar that they weren't worried. It's really very early, yours will very likely move away.
