Anxiety with C-section

This is going to be my third c-section. I'm due on June 14th. The first one was emergency after 24 hours of labor and I really didn't care what they did to get the kid out of me. LOL The second one was scheduled and a totally different story. I freaked out as soon as they started prepping me. It was pretty intense.. Now to this one. I'm 7 months pregnant and I'm already starting to freak out. Did anyone else do this? Do you know if they can give anything for the anxiety?

Hi and Welcome!

I'm sorry that you're already starting to get anxious about your upcoming procedure. It's not uncommon -- we actually hear that quite a bit from Moms on this board. Perhaps one or two of them will pop up to share their experience.

I would totally recommend that you talk with your doctor about your fear. Some of it might be hormonal and he/she might be able to give you something now to help manage that anxiety. There are plenty of medications that will not impact baby. And certainly there are options for the day of the procedure... all you have to do is request them!

Good luck and keep us posted on how things go!

Thanks for replying.. I'm going to talk to my doctor on Monday at my appt. I'm more worried about the day of the procedure flipping out again! Once again thanks for your reply.
