Hi, I am pg with my fourth baby, and this will be my fourth c-section. I was just wondering if anyone else is headed that way. My Dr said that he has done 5 on one lady before, but I heard that 3 was many dr's limit.

I am having my 3rd section in August. And I asked my dr. that same question - because I'm considering having a 4th. He said that he has seen patients have 5 and even 6 sections - it all depends on the person, their recovery, etc. :-)

(for example, I have a friend who was told by her dr. that after the birth of her 2nd child by section, he said no more for her because her lining was too thin and it is more likely to rupture... But, he told her that upfront right after the birth of her 2nd... )

therefore, the person should know and be told right away by their dr. either way. Therefore, it sounds like you'll be fine. :-)

Best of luck to you!!! :-)

I've had 4 and will have my 5th in late December. After my 3rd child, we moved to a new city, and I had to get a new doctor. The new doctor (as well as my old doctor) didn't seem to think it was a big deal and neither have ever remotely told me to not have anymore kids. However, for my own personal mental health, this baby will be the last--LOL! As far as spacing, I had my 1st c/s in 8/96, then 2/98, then 2/99, then 5/02, and now 12/03. I've never had any problems, and have had fairly easy recoveries.

I've had 6 c-sections. Yes, every woman is different. I always ask the doctor delivering my baby what my uterus looks like. So far . . . it looks great. It really does depend upon the woman and her uterus. I've heard that Ethyl Kennedy had 11 c-sections during a time when they were just starting to do c-sections.
