BTDT Bleeding Question

Hi Ladies,

My name is Mo and I'm a TTC grad that has my first beautiful baby boy on March 19th. He was born by an emergency c-section after a failed induction. Anyway, I have a question for any of you that have had a c-section.

I'm still bleeding, I'm 6 weeks pp so I know that's not abnormal. However, my bleeding tapered off a bit and in the last 3 days I have started bleeding heavily with bright red blood and some clots. To the point where when I sneeze or blow my nose (thank you allergies) I feel a huge gush. There's been some clots in it now as well.

My son is EBF and has never had a bottle so I feel like it's not my period. I'm not in any pain but I am changing my pad every 2 hours which seems like a lot to me.

Hi Mo - Congratulations on your beautiful little guy!

To answer your question directly - I haven't had the experience that you're dealing with. However, I totally agree with your gut reaction and wouldn't be thrilled with your mid-wife's answer. Your flow sounds much, much heavier than anything I've ever experienced with my 3 sections.

If it gets worse I would try to be seen...

Welcome and congrats on your sweet boy! My birthday is in March and I think it's a great time to be born. ;-)

My bleeding tapered off and returned a few times before its final adieu, but I was not changing my pad anywhere near every two hours. Are you using a regular pad or a postpartum pad? I hope you get a better answer soon! I know a woman who EBF and still got her period back at 8 weeks PP, but that's very unusual and 6 weeks would be even odder!

Thanks Ladies, I appreciate your answers...and the confirmation of what I already really felt. I guess I just needed someone to tell me I wasn't being paranoid. I'm always thinking that when I call the MW she is thinking that I am overreacting- though I only called her a few times during my entire pregnancy- all for valid reasons! Again, thank you so much!

Mo - I hope everything is okay and that you don't have any C section related complications.
