I'm not sure where the people telling you this are getting their information, but your mother's birth history is only part (and a small part) of the story.

Congratulations on your new little one to-be!

I want to echo the PP that you need to understand WHY your Mom had a C section before anyone can tell you if there is any chance of you following in her footsteps. I tend to think that there are very few reasons why you'd be tied into C section simply because your Mom had one AND you have every right to try for a vaginal birth if you want to.

I've had 2 sections, but

Welcome to the board. You have received some very good advice alreay but i just wanted to respond to you as well.

The best way to deliver is best determined by your and babies health at the time of delivery. There are specific instances which make vaginal birth dangerous for both mom and baby, however for the most part if you have not had any complications during your birth a non surgical birth is best for mom and baby. There are very real risks and complications of a surgical birth so you are best to discuss your fears with your doctor. Ask the doctor what his or her c-section rate is. If out of a 100 births they deliver a large number by c-section I would consider finding another doctor that does not jump to c-sections, but that is my personal opinion.

I would read over some of the articles listed below....

I hope this is of some help to you, your best bet is to talk over your specific case with your own doctor and find out what his or her professional opinion is.

Keep us posted.
