Has anyone else experienced a lot of drainage from their incision?

No - that doesn't sound like my experience. This might sound like a strange question, but does it have a bad smell or is it warm to the touch? It may be infected in which case I would recommend seeing your doc ASAP.

When I went back after 8 or 9 days to have my staples removed, I still got gushes of fluid.

The doctor told me what it was called, but he said nothing was wrong.

He did a culture though and turns out I had staph. It wasn't the staph making the fluid come out, it's just I had staph at the same time as the fluid pockets.

I am not saying you have staph, just that I'd call and say um, fluid is still leaking from my incision.

Then tell them the color, the odor and so on.

I'd want to be cultured to make sure it's not staph.

Better safe than sorry.

What if I hadn't asked about it? Who knows what would have happened to me?
