Hey I'm Jenn.
My Blog chronicles my transformation from miss to mrs. to mommy in 2008!
In my experience...
The the swelling from surgery, fluid and your uterus could last for 6 weeks or so.
My dr gave me a support belt at the hospital. He advised I only use it when necessary. As for the extra flab you will have to work out to get rid of the baby belly, as that is what it actually is. You are to relax & enjoy your baby for at least 5 more weeks. Then you do not want to start hard on abdominal training this could actually hurt you. It also depends on your body & family history.
HTH Enjoy your new baby & relax.
My c-section scar is still somewhat numb and it has been almost two years.
Hi Jenn and welcome!
In my experience, how quickly you go back to "normal" in terms of the tummy area is based upon how much you gained and your body type. Some women tend to bounce right back while others like me have
I had my first c/s in 2000 and had a horrible scar and numbness. Never really had a lip, but have always had a bump in that area, numbness never went away. In 2003 I had my 2nd c/s, dr cleaned up my scar tissue, have a beautiful very thin line now with feeling. I'm now pregnant with #3 (5 years later) and a looking forward to my c/s.
I have to say, the first ones are harder to bounce back from, it took me 12 weeks before I was totally back to normal, with my 2nd one I was up and ready to go the next day, things were still sore, but was a little more prepared for the outcome. Was driving on week 3, and back to working full time by week 4, my boss let me bring the baby to work since I was ready.
Now that I'm a stay at home mommy, I'm hoping all goes as easy as the last, although I plan on having my sister-in-law over during the days to help with my other two girls during the summer (she's 16, will turn 17 during the summer).

I am 7 months pp and I still have the flap. I have not excersized or anything due to a lot of back pain that I've been seeing a chiropractor for. Also, I still have incision pain on the left side.
I'm still numb in the incision area even tho it's getting a little better.
