Hello! :) Have a question!

My name is Kristy and I just had my baby boy on Friday. :) I'm actually still in the hospital but my nurse can't answer my question and told me to ask the dr... well, I never even saw him/her today. I'm suppose to go home tomorrow. Brady is doing great.. I thought my first c-section went okay. I actually felt great for a while. Last night I decided to skip my pills because I needed to get some sleep and didn't want to be woken up. Well, I guess I paid for it this morning because it took me sooo long to get up. I was in tears. It hurts so much to get up. My belly doesn't hurt when i'm laying down. Doesn't even really hurt when i'm sitting... what feels like someone is taking a knife to me is when I put pressure on my left leg. It hurts my left side (where my scar is) soooo bad. This has now happened all day today and it brings me to tears. The bathroom is only like 10 steps away and even that is a workout. It's getting worse and worse every day. I'm taking 3 oxy's, some tylenol AND ibuprofen and nothing has touched it.

Is this normal? Why is it only my left side? My leg doesn't even hurt at all which is what the nurse doesn't understand. It's just the pressure from that leg that goes right to my incistion (sp?). Like I said.. it feels like a knife cutting me. :(

I don't know if it's normal or not but I can tell you that I had the same problem. It's only my left side. I am now 7 months PP and I still have pain in my left side of my incision. At my 8 week PP visit, my midwife told me that the muscles were still healing...but that was at 8 weeks...I'm 7 months now. grrr

I've been told it takes a full year to heal...I'm praying for that year to come...but who knows.

Congrats on the baby.

Thanks! I am now home from the hospital and doing a lot better. I talked to the dr who said I may have had a nerve stitched in on that side. And the reason my back feels pressure is because my tailbone is crooked.. maybe from the delivery or something. I know i've had lower back pain for

Kristy - Congratlations on your little boy! I'm glad that you got some answers from your doctor and I'm sorry that I couldn't chime in here a bit earlier to your post.

As you move into the next few days, you may be tempted to start tapering off the medication early, but really staying on top of pain management can really make a difference in the first couple of weeks.

Hang in there and enjoy your new little man!!!

Hello!! Just wanted to give another update and had another question. Brady will be 2 weeks on Friday (time is sure flying :( ... I haven't taken any pain meds in a couple days now and i'm feeling pretty much back to normal. I'm shocked! Anyway, my question is: part of belly around my scar is numb still. I can't feel it. Is this normal?

hi, Congrats on your beautiful little Brady, love the siggy of your kids, its so cute.

The numbness is very normal, it can last for weeks, months and even years. just depends on the mom. Mine lasted for quite some time.

Hope that helps.

Keep us posted.
