Hi everyone!

So glad that I just found this board! I just had an emergency c-section on Oct. 1st as well as an appendectomy.

Tami -

Congratulations on your new pink bundle of joy! I hope you are enjoying your time with her and that your recovery continues to go well.

I've had 3 C sections, and haven't ever really paid too much attention to the strict "no driving rule." With that said, I haven't done a ton of driving and

Hello

I had my section on a Monday, was released on Wednesday, drove to the store on Thursday and my sister (for whom I was caretaker) had a stroke on Friday. So...I did whatever I could without pulling. Your body will tell you, I promise.

I had my c-section on Sat 10/3 and drove yesterday..I figured as long as I didnt hurt getting into the van I was ok to drive. Thursday my sister took us to the grocery store and it hurt a lil getting in her surburban but overall I was ok.

Hi Tami!

Congratulations on your new little one! I didn't drive while I was still taking pain meds, which was about a month. But I'm on the WAY cautious side, so I really think you have to use your best judgement. Same with lifting - I'd be a little careful, but obviously you can't wait around for people to lift everything for you! When I'd try doing too much, my incision would start to ache. That's how I knew it was time to take a break!

Enjoy your baby!

Melissa - Congrats on your new little man! It sure sounds like everything went great for you if you're up and around so much! Hope you're hangin' in with the sleepless nights too!

Thank you guys so much for your input! I did start doing a lot more this weekend and yesterday and low and behold, as you said, I started bleeding a lot more today. I saw the dr. today for a follow up and asked him if I should be concerned and he said no. He said that I can do anything that does not put strain on my abdomen and that is not going to make me winded.

Do you guys agree?? Also, I had insanely high blood pressure today--did any of you experience that??? I have to go back tomorrow for a bp check. What do you thin that means??? Thanks sooooooo much for your help!!!

My blood pressure didn't go back to normal until about 4 weeks after my c/s. I did have blood pressure problems during the last few weeks of my pregnancy. My doctor kept an eye on it, but wasn't worried.

I think use your best judgement about your activity level. You pretty much know if it hurts bad enough that you need to back off.

Hope you're getting some rest and enjoying your baby!!

I do agree with your doctor - you should be okay... If you're seeing increased bleeding just slow down and it should gradually go away.
