Hello. I will have my 2nd c-section June 22. My first resulted in HORRIFIC gas pain. I really want to do everything possible to avoid this. Besides from the gas pain the experience was fine. So, if I can avoid gas it will be smooth sailing! I hope! Thanks in advance for any tips! Kara

Drink lots of water. Get up and walk as soon as possible. Start out slowly with eating.

Diddo!! Getting up and moving is the way to get that gas out. Lots and Lots of water!! Don't be afraid to let it out (HA). I have never been one to ever pass gas in front of my hubby even after 11 years, but I had no chose. I kept apologzing. I am glad I didn't hold it in. :)

just move as soon as you can.if u don't feel like walking on the first day, atleast keep changing position in the bed.i almost passed out when i tried to walk the first day so i asked the nurse to help me sit on the side of the bed for a while, and i did that every 3-4 hrs.and ofcourse water helped a lot i was drinking 3-4 pitchers they provide in hospital room.WISH U LUCK :)

Yes be sure to walk, walk and walk. Also rock in a rocking chair when your not walking. A rocking chair helps wonderfully with the gas.

Good luck
