So glad you are avoiding morphine, I hated that stuff. What will they be giving you instead? I was ok on demerol on the PCA but I know some people can't handle that either.
Wondering what awful c-section experience you had (my first and fifth dr were awful and the first anesthesiologist is the devil incarnate.) They didn't tell me to make sure your back is completely bowed over to make the spot in your back the most exposed. Your shoulders should be relaxed and rounded (think humpback of notredame!)
You can also ask for something to help you relax before they do the epidural. I had that with my fourth and I wasn't worried about the epidural when it came time to do it.
