I have had 3 c-sections, and two abdominal surgeries in the past 5 years.

I'm sure your doctors will not put you or your baby at risk. The longer the baby stays put the better so I'm sure that is why the doctors want to wait till 39 weeks. If the need should arise for a emergent c-section one can be performed in as little as 15 minutes. Most hospitals have a ob surgical ward set up and ready to go so if the need were to arise it would be a matter of getting you prepped and into the or. I'm sure that as you get closer to your due date your doctor will more closely monitor you and baby and at the first sign of labour they will schedule a c-section. If you are concerned talk to your doctors about it and ask them what the procedure is for if an emergency should arise.

Keep us posted and best wishes.
