Hi everyone I am not feeling well at all. I had a c-section four weeks ago. I was doing fine until last week which was about two and a half weeks after my c-section. I have four children two boys ten and four and two girls a one year old and four week old. I have been lifting my four week old (which she weighs about twenty eight pounds) and now I think I have scar tissue pains. It is on my left side and it seems to start at the incision area and shoots stinging and aching pains up into my lower abdomin and I sometimes feel it in my back. By night time I can hardly walk. When I laugh, sneeze cough or have a bowel movement it hurts pretty bad. I hurts all of the time just worse at the times I just stated. I called the doctor and the nurse said it could be scar tissue, a cyst, my period trying to start, or colon problems which I thought was weird. Anyway I have taken ibuprofin, tylenol, and nothing eases the pain. Has anyone ever had this happen to them and how long does this last? This is my second section and I don't remember having this kind of pain.

Welcome - gentle hugs for you! Honestly, I think 4 weeks is a little early for it to be scar tissue pain. Your girl is one big baby to be at 28 pounds at only 4 weeks! My goodness, what was she at birth? Most doctors suggest you lift nothing but the baby for the first 6 weeks, and no more than 10 pounds. I think you pain may be from overdoing it a bit (but with 3 other children to watch, that wouldn't be all that unlikely.

Remember, your nerve ends were cut during the incision, and it takes a while for that the heal. Get more rest and mention this to your doctor at your 6 week check up if the pain is still as severe. Also, its not a bad idea to get back on your prescribed pain medication. I recommed taking the Vicodin with 2 Motrin IBs. The Motrin is perfectly fine if you are breastfeeding.

Best wishes to you!
