I had Lucas via c-section on 1-30-04 and my DH and I tried having sex at about 5 weeks. It HURT! I felt raw down there. So I had My MW do a culture at my 6wk PP. She said I had a mild yeast infection. And it was treated with the one time treatment cream. 4 days later it is still too uncomfortable. And I feel horrible for DH.

I don't remember this being like this with my other son who was also born c-section

Any one else have this problem I just want it to go away.

We had the same problem. I didn't really want sex while I was pregnant but was feeliong rather 'frisky' at around 4 weeks PP. Dr. gave us the green light but MAN OH MAN the first couple of times hurt really bad. It felt like we'd been at it for hours or something....not pleasant. I finally got brave enough to try again at about 7 weeks PP and it was MUCH better ;-) I actually enjoyed myself ;-) Good luck, Melisa

LOL! Yeah they didn't get cut open. I felt the same way too. This is really embarrassing, but I will say it anyways. It felt like I was tighter down there than before. Like we couldn't do anything. It hurt so bad I about died. It took me months to fully get into Sex again. Lucikly ny hubby was very understanding. I guess every woman is different. I was scared to do anything for awhile even when the OB gave her ok. Hang in there. I am sure it will get better. I also found out for me the 7 day treatment is better than the 1 day treatment for yeast infections. That is just for me and my opinion.

i don't think the pain is related to having had a c section. hormones in a postpartum, and especially a breastfeeding mother, make it really dry down there even when you're feeling randy. also, i've found this time around that my lochia flow has seriously irritated my vulva in a way a normal period TOTALLY does not, and makes it feel extra sensitive and raw in NOT a good way.

that said, frequent (throughout the day) washings have cleared up the rawness, and with a lubricant, i enjoyed sex quite a lot at one month pp (sorry if tmi). so maybe give those things a try?

at least none of us are dealing with big rips and episiotomies and stitches and monstrous hemmerhoids down there! it could be worse.
