Trying again after classic cesarean

When I gave birth to my son, Benjamin, I needed an emergency C-section.

I didn't have a 'classic' c/s and they still reccomended 6 months..I only waited 5, the only thing I'm experiencing is that they're talking repeat c/s (no chance for vbac) and originally they were saying at 36 weeks, however I'm also expecting twins this time around. I have been now told that as long as everything with my scar looks good that they will let me go to 38 weeks providing they're actually staying in there that long anyway.

My husband and I discussed the pros and cons of waiting, we didn't really involve a doctor, however you might want to talk to your doctor about trying again sooner, ask what the actual risks of rupture are for YOU..I know they can never give you a definate answer, but if you're healing well then the chance might be lower for YOU specifically.

Best of luck to you, and no matter what you decide, remember your heart will always lead you to what is right.

I couldn't have said it better than Krystal!

I've not had the vertical c-section nor TTC so soon after a delivery, but I completely understand why you want too. Because of your incision type not being the norm, I would at least mention to your doc your thoughts about TTC. And let them explain to you the risk factors.

After what you have been through with Benjamin, I know you are just so ready to hold and snuggle a precious baby in your arms!! But, you need to give yourself the best chance to do that, and that's why I think you should discuss the risk factors with your doctor, so you are going into the decision fully aware of what to expect.

BIG (((HUGS)))!! My heart aches for you and any mother who has had to go through a pain as big as yours! :(

How has your physical recovery been?

First, (((HUGS))).

I was 22 the first time I was pregnant. I ended up miscarrying, and while it was much earlier and under different circumstances than what you went through with your sweet boy, I completely understand the need to try for another baby rather than wait. Because I had no issues with the miscarriage, I only had to wait two cycles before trying again. That's how I ended up with my son. :)

Now with this baby I was 10 years older and had a c-section. So from that aspect I can understand the waiting due to the surgery. My surgery was a few days after yours. I am just getting back to normal (I had the bikini line cut). I actually just had my final pp doctor visit and got the alls good.
