Right after the surgery (like while I was still in recovery), I know the nurse said I was passing some small clots, and she had to physically reach in and get some out. But, after that, I was really surprised at how minimal the bleeding seemed.

With my other deliveries I had PP hemorrhage, and that was a big concern for this delivery too. I stayed hooked up to Pitocin for the first 12 hours to cause the uterus to contract down.

By the end of the first week I thought I was about done bleeding because I barely needed a panty liner, and I was shocked. But then the day of my 1 week PP check-up (and also my birthday!!), I took a shower, and started bleeding really bad right away. I passed a golfball sized clot, and ended up hemmorhaging after that. In the hour it took to get to my apt, I had gone through 3 super overnight sized pads, and leaked out onto 2 different pair of pants. I was so nervous sitting in the waiting room, afraid I was going to make a really awful mess before they got me back to see the doc. My hubby laughed at me, and said, "You were worried you were going to make and mess, and I was worried you were about to pass out and die from blood loss." (I did pass out from blood loss after my last delivery, that's why he was so concerned about it.)

The doc gave me methergine to stop the bleeding, and told me if it got worse to go to the ER.

That did help slow it down, and then I continued to bleed fairly moderately for about 5 weeks. And finally it slowed down to light during the 6th week and was pretty well gone after that.

My uterus just doesn't handle childbirth well, of any kind. :(

I had lochia for 7 weeks with E, and 8.5 weeks with F. Then I got Mirena put in at 10w pp, and then had spotting for two months after that. Then I had a week off, and then I think I might have had AF. We'll know in a couple weeks if I was right about AF. On the upside, I had a ton of leftover pads from when E was born and I've gone through them all now.

I had 8 wks the last time, so I was grateful for 6 this time. I hope it wasn't AF for you though! Ugh!! I thought the Mirena was supposed to keep you from having periods?

That's why I'm not sure. Monday was moderate spotting/bleeding and cramping, Tuesday was nothing. Wednesday and Friday were a repeat of Monday; Thursday was a repeat of Tuesday. So not like the periods I've had in the past, but there was decent cramping so I'm still on the fence. F has been sttn more or less for three months now, so it could possibly be AF. I got it back at 7m pp with my daughter, and she was not sttn.

With my first c/s I bled for about 8 weeks. Second birth was vaginal I bled for a 3-5 days. Second c/s I bled for three days. Third c/s I bled for a week. I drank red raspberry leaf tea in all the pregnancies except the first, the more RRL the less bleeding I had.

Crazy bad in the hospital. It was gross. The nurse would push on my stomach and I could feel it just running out. Yuck! Then it was like a period (which for me is quite bad) for about a week, then light, almost just spotting for another 3 weeks. Then it stopped for a week. Then came back almost like a period for a week (a result of doing too much over Thanksgiving I think), then down to just barely spotting for another week. So by 7 weeks, it was completely gone and didn't come back. Had the Mirena put in at about 12 weeks and spotted a little for a couple of days with that and haven't had anything since! :)

I hope Holly has the same luck with her Mirena. I thought that's what I had heard about them.

It also helps with AF. I only have 2 days of AF now and no cramping or PMS. I buy red raspberry leaf by the pound online since I adore the flavor of it.
