My baby was in special care the first couple days but he was very quiet and kind of... I don't know... Thoughtful. lol He seemed like he wasn't going to bother crying when there were things going on for him to analyze, odd as I'm sure that sounds. He's still that way now, two weeks later. Smiles a lot, doesn't cry much, always looking around when he's awake.

Sounds like you got a VERY good baby!! :) I hope he stays that way!!

My only c-section baby was my last baby, and she worried me the day after she was born. My first 3 were vaginal deliveries and those babies were very sleepy during the first couples of days. And I now assume it was from the epidural.

Well, I guess because from the time I got the spinal for the c-section to the actual delivery of the baby was so fast, my last baby didn't have much of the pain meds in the system. So, she was worrisome those first couple of days. Cried almost constantly and wanted to nurse non-stop. I was afraid that my milk wasn't working (and this was my 4th time around). I had the lactation consultant come in to see if she thought I needed to try supplementing her, but she said that as long as she was having one wet/dirty diaper for how many days old she was, that she was getting enough milk. And that she was probably just a fussy baby. That's what you want to hear, right?!

Well, truth is, once my milk did start coming in, she was a much happier baby. But, whew, was she working hard to get it going!! I just wasn't sure how I was going to handle a baby that cried all day, while I had 3 other kids to care for too. (And even two of those babies had colic that only happened in the evening hours.) But, she's been a really good baby since. So, I do attribute her being so awake and hungry to her not having had the pain meds in her system already like her big brothers.

He was so quiet and cuddly. He didn't cry so much as squeak when he got upset. He loved to cuddle with us and slept on one of us all the time.
