Hi... I know, kind of a weird question but now that I'm 13 days PP and my mom isn't here to help out anymore as of today (and my DH just doesn't cut it with the cleaning and won't/can't cook)... I'm just wondering exactly how much I can do without hurting myself or delaying my healing???

I had my fist outing 5 hours after I got home....it was Christmas Eve and we went to my parent's house for dinner and brought DD2--then 4 days old to see her family for the first time.

Hi and Congratulations on your new little one!! :)

You know my advice would be simply to listen to your body. If things are too hard to do right now, then don't do them! But if you feel up to going out or doing some light cooking or cleaning then go for it. I know sometimes those things are necessary for maintaining your sanity -- espeically if you have other kiddos and it sounds like you do! The 6 week rule is a guideline - you don't have to stay in your bed the whole 6 weeks, KWIM?

With that said, if you are experiencing pain or if you see increased PP bleeding (particularly red!) or any kind of clots --
