Reflecting on your experience, what would you say was the worst thing about your C section experience. Please post the positive parts of your experience in the companion thread: What was the best thing about your C section...

The worst thing about my first C section was that it was unplanned and unwanted. I really wanted a vaginal birth and after pushing for 4 hours and no baby I was really disappinted that I had to have

They gave me too much medication which forced me to stay in the recovery room for a lot longer than usual. I hated that I couldn't see or hold my baby til the next day.

Passing gas! Absolutely the worse pain I ever felt in my entire life was passing gas after surgery...The nurses were telling me it's a good thing to pass gas- 'walk to pass gas' but truthfully it really was the worst pain ever.

And then getting the shock of my life after I came home from the hospital when I saw my 'mama apron' belly in the mirror for the first time! Granted, it's a little slimmer now but there's a little bit still hanging!

This is a tough question as I've had three c-sections.

CS#1
I felt like a failure for having a c-section. Never mind that I was on my third day of a failed induction, I was mad that my body wouldn't work right. I was surprised by how little pain was involved and how quickly I was moving around.

CS#2
Once again, I was mad that my planned VBAC was not happening. My cervix just does not know how to dilate. The worst part was being stuck in the hospital, away from my first born.

CS#3
I have two things I hated about this c-section.

I HATED having a scheduled section! I did not like having a time set months in advance. Way too much pressure for me. I was much happier the second pregnancy with the illusion of a VBAC in the picture and the last minute decision for a section.

This time the pain was much worse. The surgery was just short of 2 hours long. My daughter was delivered 25 minutes after the start, but the adhesions were really bad. I had never really felt uterine cramping with the other deliveries, but this time I had to stay in the hospital for three days to get the pain under control. I can't imagine how much worse it would have been without the On-Q and Astromorph!

The worst part of it was being in shock and shaking the whole time and having the blood pressure cuff squeezing my arm because I could not stop shaking;(. It was a relief to me to have a section, I was terrified of delivering vaginally but I know

Worst for me was a 3 way tie ... I hate needles so the only thing scaring me going into the c/s is #1 the IV I have them put it in the top of my arm and #2 getting the spinal. And #3 the cathader I hate having that put in!! I try to get them to take it out ASAP it's so uncomfortable.
