I have just found out I am pregnant and I am horrified at all the women telling me to that everyone poops all over themselves when delivering a baby. Is this true??? Omg, how do you deal with it???

Hi! It doesn't happen to everyone. Didn't happen to me. But I do know of at least one friend it happened to. Don't stress though, the doctors have really seen it all. Seriously.

HI Haylee and welcome to iVillage. I don't know why other women tell that and other worst-case-scenario stories like that to new mothers-to-be. Just remember to take everything you hear about pregnancy and labor with a grain of salt.

I had 4 children and never had the "poop" experience everyone told me about. In fact, most of the horrible things people told me about never happened. I'd go tell my doctor about things I heard and she would explain facts to me so, If I were you, I'd ask the doctor about this and anything else you hear. Your doctor will be able to explain what really happens and how they deal with it. It will really help set your mind at ease and help you get to know the doctor better.

Congratulations and good luck! Be sure to drop by often and let us know how your pregnancy is going.

I gave birth to my first child almost 8wks ago and I did have this happen to me. I too heard about pooping while pushing and was nervous about it. The nurses just cleaned it up every time some came out. It was nothing happened each time. P.S. when your pushing you really won't care what else is coming out of your body so long as mom and baby r healthy and safe through the process. Best of luck and congrats on this beautiful journey.
